Wells Alumni Golf Tournament on Friday April 27, 2018 at the Coyote Hills Golf Course. With the unfortunate passing of alumni faculty member Donald G. Wells on May 1, 2014 following an extended illness, CPP ASCE has named the tournament in his honor due to his many years as the faculty advisor for this chapter. Every year, Professor Wells would plan this golf tournament and would donate the proceeds to the Civil Engineering Department’s student-run organizations.

Professor Wells had always set a very high standard for faculty to student relationships, and we want to honor his legacy on this day by continuing this annual golf tournament in his name. Following the tournament, we will be having a short reception at the resort, where we will serve food and drinks, announce the winners of the tournament, and award the Donald G. Wells Scholarship. Our guest speaker this year will be golf architect and Cal Poly Pomona CE graduate Cal Olson! Cal designed the Coyote Hills Course and will discuss the engineering challenges he faced with this course.
