• F1 Challenge Mod

I'm assuming people still play this, so do you? If so, this is the tiny corner of the internet where you can talk about your virtual F1 career, and hopefully share stories of your serious and/or silly antics in what I find is the best F1 game ever. I guess I'll get this started with the current state of my career(keep in mind that I can't find the files that store all the race results, so this is off memory). As you may be able to tell from the icon alongside my name, I am currently driving for Tyrell in my first season, through the glory of mods. By default, the game (obviously) includes the seasons 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002. But, through community created addons, my life as an F1 driver goes from 1998 to 2004 (I did intend to start at 1997, but too many bugs were apparent). So, yeah, I'm driving for Tyrell in their last season.

Despite the lack of performance on the scoresheets, I am shamelessly crushing my team mate Ricardo Rosset, who, had the 107% rule been implemented in the game, not qualified for a single race (neither would have Minardi #2 driver Esteban Tuero). On the odd occasion, I have managed to get my car ahead of one (or both) of the Saubers, and I consistently out race both the Arrows cars, so I believe I'm ready to make a step up for a 3 year deal with one of three teams, I'll get to those later. As for other drivers this season(for the unknowing, yes they are AI), there have been some surprises. The biggest of which is Prost's Olivier Panis. If I remember correctly, he started the season with a win in Melbourne (my home race).

From that point on, he has done real well in Qualifying, but not as well in the race. He sits 7th in the Drivers Championship. Another is Alexander Wurz, yet another driver to do a really good job in qualy (he's out qualified both McLarens on several occasions, and gotten to the front row at least twice). But in the race, he is still slightly faster than team mate Fisichella, reflected by the pair's respective positions.

F1 Challenge Mod

Oh man, I've done every F1 season from 1999 to 2013 I started in F1 challenge and went to the 2004 mod and then from 2005 I was using rFactor and now I'm doing the 2014 season in F1 2014. One of the biggest moments that happened is in the 2000 season, it came down to last race between me, Schumacher and Hakkinen and in order for me to win the championship I had to win and Schumacher finish 4th or lower and it wouldn't matter where Hakkinen finished. So 4 laps to go I'm in the lead Hakkinen second, Coulthard 3rd and Schumacher 4th then I think it was at turn 7, I spin and drop to 4th. I managed to overtake Schumacher but there wasn't enough laps to overtake Coulthard or Hakkinen so I finished 3rd in the race in second in the championship tied with Hakkinen and 3 points behind Schumacher. But since then I've gone on to win the championship 5 times. If I can't be an F1 driver in real life at least I can pretend in the virtual world I suppose.

Been playing for year and a half. Started with Jordan for (1998, using the 1999 mod and everything) In my first season score like 48 points. Mostly were 6th place and a few podiums and lots of DNF by silly mistakes because I didn't knew well some tracks like Spa for example.

I was very close to win in the Hockenheim but I did a silly mistake (run deep on the penultimate turn and broke my front wing). Finally the win came at Suzuka one of my worst tracks but in that race I did one of my best drives. Even Mika Hakkinen tried to took me out of the track exiting the spoon turn on the closing laps. For 1999 I moved to Ferrari and won in Australia with an amazing duel with Mika for the last 5 laps with a last lap move on the last turn to win the race then wins, DNF and down to the wire to Suzuka.

Me, Schumacher and Hakkinen had a shot for the Championship. I was in the worst situation, starting last after a terrible wet/dry Qualifying.

After 18 laps I was on the points but I only need 4th to clinch the championship after winning in Sepang previously. Anyway won the race and the Championship by 13 points. Then I started to James Hunt-ing my career and now I'm rebuilding it.

F1 Challenge '99-'02 trace results. I just downloaded F1 Challenge, and my game of course has been crashing because of the mods. Is there anything such as a handy utility for all of these fixes? One more question: Is the trace.txt file comprehensive with the CTD error or is it particular with the files that have crashed? EDIT - Since I don't feel confident of playing around with the game files' templates, is there such thing as a mod manager/installer for F1C99-02? Well, pardon me; I figured it out in a short amount of time.

I am going to install mrjglo's track pack(though I wish there was another site with the DL.) and f1 seasons starting with '82 so I can drive with Gilles Villeneuve's Ferrari. F1 Challenge '99-'02 mod installation help. In my opinion, I will love F1C more than rFactor because the grip is not so twitchy even without driving aids. But, the point of this thread is when I attempt to install a mod such as the Track Pack 1982-1996, I install it but when I select certain tracks, I get a CTD error. It's also the same way when I select certain cars installed through a mod package that gives me the CTD error. For installing mods, should I just do an Auto-Rename for a few of them so that the original file is not overwritten?

Really hope someone can help me - I downloaded the 1994, 1995 and 1996 F1 mods from BulgarianSimWorld. After installation, I went into the game - edited my player to any of the mods, went back, selected a country flag to select a track, and when I click Go To Track, I get the error of 'F1C.exe has stopped working'. I get this every time. Also, intermittently it crashes after selecting a mod driver as soon as I try to go back to the main screen.

But not always, even with the same mod and driver. I am running Windows 7. Any advice will be appreciated!
