Joseph Brackett Never written a review for anything ever!
But this app is the most frustrating piece of technological software that it makes my blood boil every time I encounter it. I am currently trying to watch the 2018 NCAA National Football Championship and every 20 seconds it freezes. When it finally does start playing again I have completely missed the current play. Each time it freezes I question whether or not I have traveled back in time to the 1990’s and I have a satellite dish loosely attached to my roof. And each time the wind blows it craps the signal out? Then I think to myself, “No wait this is 2018!
We have virtual reality technology, and SELF-Driving cars!” So the question is: WHAT THE H E (wait wait wait wait hold on its buffering again) DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS ARE YOU DOING ESPN???!!!! This app must be the longest running April Fools joke ever. That is the only logical explanation for this garbage. My suggestion for fixing it would be to put Kirk Herbstreit in charge of fixing it. He is such a know it all I am sure he could figure it out. To be honest writing this review did make me feel an ounce better.even though I know no change will come from it.
Later) Now it appears I have been “black listed” from this app. It wont recognize my cable provider as being valid.
Which means I can no longer access any of the games on the app. This has never happened in my regrettable history with dealing with this unreliable app. Joseph Brackett Never written a review for anything ever! The quality of the video is great.

You can also access other aired content like 30 for 30 docs. NFL Live and their hot takes. The problem: the commercials stream perfectly, however, if you're watching a game, you have to have another app open to follow along. It freezes every 10-15 seconds back with garbled quality.
Once the picture clears up to HD, it freezes again. I know ESPN was late to the streaming game. I know they're losing subscribers and money - the just fired a bunch of on-air talent. But if they're doing this to force the viewer to buy a cable package just for ESPN, I'd rather just follow along on 'the SCORE' app and listen to the game on the radio. The SCORE app provider real time stats and is only a few seconds behind the actual game. Invest the money you're 'saving' into your streaming service. This is the future.
If you don't, the games are going to basic channels and antennas. B A G You get ESPN and all the other channels under their umbrella: Longhorn Network, SEC, All the ESPNs. The quality of the video is great.

Chaswb4 It's great to be able to access all games on espn, live and replay, and to be able to rewind and fast forward without constraints imposed by other streaming services. That said, the app is buggy. It freezes a lot.
Many times it just doesn't respond when I select a game.and it takes multiple close outs and restarts of the app to get it to work. Been this way for years now.
Second, the functionality ought to have improved in the years this has been in operation. It doesn't save your place, so when you close the app or it freezes, you have to hunt it back down. It doesn't seem to easily offer to save certain preferred channels/sports/etc.

I'm always having to dive into menus to look for soccer games. Probably a lot of user interface/function could be improved.
Also would be great if this app were to be launch able from my DIRECTV app rather than forcing manual open of this app. Chaswb4 It's great to be able to access all games on espn, live and replay, and to be able to rewind and fast forward without constraints imposed by other streaming services.
